What is a wheel and axle?
Wheel and axle - a wheel with a rod or post through its centre with both parts moving together. It can lift or move loads. It is actually a lever that can rotate through a complete circle (360 degrees) . The circle turned by the wheel is much bigger than the circle turned by the axle. Examples are tricycle wheels, bicycle wheels, roller blades/skates, car wheels, suitcase with wheels, wagon, pencil sharpener, steering wheel.
