RSPCA

At the end of the term 2 Neve,Samara and Georgie organised a fund raising day for the RSPCA. Children wore mufti and brought cat or dog food, jerseys, towels or blankest. They raised hundreds of dollars of food and collected materials to make the animals comfortable( towels, blankets, jerseys). The girls organised the whole thing. They even managed to get in the newspaper! Neve also received a letter from a Labour member of Parliament thanking her for her empathy and care. Well done!

THE MAGIC BOX

I will put in my box…
An old crystal that is shining in the moonlight.
Stars from never ending space, flying down to me.
Angels from the top of a crunchy red leaf.

My box is made from…
Purple silk as soft as a new baby.
Crunchy orange ,green, brown, red and yellow leaves from an old tree-trunk as bumpy as the moon.
Stop signs so that if anyone is mean, they will be nice.
I will…
Sleep in my box and have a fantastic dream.
I will sledge in my box and then watch TV.
I will get purple and blue honey from a magical island.

Popcorn

The inside of the popcorn seed boils until it is very hot, then the water turns into steam. The steam really wants to get out of the popcorn seed. It pushes and pushes and pushes until it explodes and it turns inside out. Then it is fluffy creamy-white popcorn. They are very different shapes and sizes - some are bumpy, some look like bumble bees and some look like ballerinas. ( diagram was included on her published copy) Georgie ( Year 4)
