The Magic Box

I will put in my box
A very fast motorbike
My very fast BMX
A boxer dog, brown and white
An orange fish
A snowboard that is very fast.

I will put in my box
A rabbit that is crawling around the ground
A cat that is black.

By Marshall Jones

The Magic Box

I will put in my box…
An angel’s necklace from far far away.
The sound of a baby’s laughter from a cot in Australia.
The smell of a forest when it has just rained.

I will put in my box …
Spring’s sunlight in a soundless spa pool.
Geranium flowers with stars on the petals from a magical tower made from lollies.
A pearl from a clam that came from an African reef.

My box is made from…
Green dragon scales from Mercury.
The softest prettiest leaf from a house made from art.

My box is made from…
Blue honey from a yellow butterfly that comes from a butter cup valley
Glass hearts that comes from the land of dreams.

I will surf on blue flames in the sunlight of Egypt.
I will pat my cat on a cloud made from red candy floss and then invite my friends to an underground cave.

By Samara

The Magic Box

I will put in my box…
An x-box to play on
Some salty waves to drop on me
A lava ball from far away volcano
The last tooth from a T-Rex
Rats from an old house
The coolest house in the world

My box is made from…
Smooth and cold gold

I will go to Hollywood in my box…
And meet LMFAO and sing every song I know.
Will

The Magic Box

By Kate
I will put in my box…
Butterflies from far far away in the oldest mountain.
A new seed made from gold from a secret room in a dark
dark forest.
The biggest slide from a different country in a different world.

I will put in my box…
Spring flowers made from the newest potions.
An angel who lives underground in the soil by the roots.
An autumn leaf from a tree in the middle of nowhere.

My box is sculptured from…
The thinnest glass from the water of the sea.
The sides are fashioned from sunflowers that shine at night.
I will sleep in my box.
I will dive down to the bottom of the sea in my box.
I will play a board game in my box.
Then I will hide in a cave where no one will find me.

The Magic Box

I will put in my box…
A cowboy on a flying white Pegasus
The scarlet flowers from a lovely spring day
The deepest craters on mars
And a strip of the brightest sun light.

My box is made from…
The hinges are made from the bones of a pterodactyl
The lid is made of the horns of a unicorn
And the sides are made from a rainbow fishes gills.

I will dig for gold and play for hours in my box.

By Jamie Kerr

The Magic Box

I will put in my box…
A drip from a feisty dragon’s blood
A root from a raspberry plant with the reddest berries
And the welcoming from Omar when we open the door.
I will put in my box…
The first shoes I got from Australia
A special pair of earrings from Africa
The voice of my Grandma when she tucks us in.
My box is fashioned from ice and snow…
The sides are made from the thinnest ice from the Antarctic
The bottom of the box is made from the first snow I skied on.
The lid is made of the shiniest diamonds.
I will jump in my box on the bounciest jelly.
By Izzy

The Magic Box

I will put in my box
A fierce fire dragon from somewhere that does not exist.
An I phone as enormous as a mountain covered in snow.
Zombies in World War 2, fighting.
I will put in my box
A hot crystal on a cold snowy mountain
A shiver from a dinosaur making a mountain crack.
A class room as big as the world!

By Heath Parkhill

THE MAGIC BOX

I will put in my box…
An old crystal that is shining in the moonlight.
Stars from never ending space, flying down to me.
Angels from the top of a crunchy red leaf.

My box is made from…
Purple silk as soft as a new baby.
Crunchy orange ,green, brown, red and yellow leaves from an old tree-trunk as bumpy as the moon.
Stop signs so that if anyone is mean, they will be nice.
I will…
Sleep in my box and have a fantastic dream.
I will sledge in my box and then watch TV.
I will get purple and blue honey from a magical island.

By Georgie

The Magic Box

I will put in my box …
The tune from a harp in a princess’s castle.
A picture of the famous artist Picasso.
Magic necklaces from the deepest parts of the sea.
I will put in my box…..
Five beautiful diamonds from under the ground.
Four big bumble bees that will not sting.
Six white horses from the farm that I use to live on.
My box is made out of silver and gold from a treasure chest.
My box is made from a pretty feathers, from a pretty bird.
I will fly to the other side of the world and say hi, then I will swim to New Plymouth and stay with my Nana for a couple of nights. I will take a ferry to Christchurch, then a car to Wanaka.
By Ella Landreth

The Magic Box

I will put n my box…
Dusty crab skin from the deep blue sea.
Sharks eating crab bones.
Fire from a fire bird on the darkest brownest branch.
A humungous fire dragon with black blueish scales.
A black sun in my eyes.

My box is made of…
Lego Star Wars with mini-figures shooting other people

I will go…
Gold mining and maybe get some gold.

Autumn Cinquain Poem

This is the cinquain we wrote together this morning.

Autumn
Sunset colours
Swaying, blowing, drifting
Crisp, delicate leaves falling down fast.
Season

by Room 10

Cinquain Poems

We analysed these cinquain poems and this is what we discovered.

Tidal Wave
Look out!
It is coming
Like a curling monster
The raging crashing waves approach
Run! run!

Shipwreck
Waves lash
Against the boat
Like a slavedriver's whips
Trying to keep the boat afloat
All's lost

Listen!
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost crisped, break from trees
And fall.

They have the following rules/pattern...

Line 3:
three words

Line 5:
one word
(synonym of line 1 or a word that sums it up)

Yellow, green, pink and brown leaves
Crisp leaves are falling

AUTUMN

Leaves swish in the breeze

Wind chops the leaves off the trees

It smells just like grapes

The ANZAC Poppy

That lonely poppy standing in the centre
Of the smoky battle feild,
Scarlet petals drifting down.
The wind blows against the lime green stalk,
Which makes the rosey red poppy sway.
The green leaves cover the red blood,
Over the dead soldires,
In the dark, black battle feids.

The poppy crinkles as a sign of bravery,
And a symbol of the tragic war.

Soldier in the War

Soldier in the war, what do you see?
Gunfire soaring over the sandy trench,
Blood and mud dripping on me.
Green foes with guns sprinting,
Canons stay standing in front of red, yellow and orange explosion.
Russians lie dead or crying for help
As planes fly by.

Helicopters hover above us,
Torpedoes glide like seagulls,
Through the dark murky sky.
Puffs of smoke go up towards God,
As soldiers receive white bandages.

The Bright Red Poppies

As the bright red poppies sway and swing their seeds, the field gets filled with bright blood flowers. They cover the ground like a carpet but the people still lie dead among the scarlet poppies. Now the poppy represents the war.

Poppy Poems

The ANZAC Poppy
In the battle field of doom
A long wide carpet of blood red poppies lie.
The petals are so red and show soldiers are dead.
The dull green stems show the soldiers clothing.
Smokey air from the gun's shooting.
Tragic war ends, but not the poppy.

Toby (9 years)

Blood Red Poppy
Dying soldiers, blood puddles,
Tanks all over the place.
Battlefield.

Petals of poppies,
The stems are very
hairy and green.

Blown up trucks
Poppies are a reminder
of the dead soldier's blood.

Blood poppies swaying in the battle field of doom.

Yoghurt is a healthy food because it has good bacteria
One-celled organisms make yoghurt
Good yoghurt is fermented
Helpful bacteria live in yoghurt
Using yoghurt is a good idea
Reuse and recycle old yoghurt pots
Tell everyone about yoghurt
