Funky Eyes

As part of the STAR (for identified gifted and talented students in our area) programme in our school, Danielle's Thursday group were raising money for Tui to use a s part of her volunteer work in Fiji. Tui is a local optometrist who gives lots back to her own and other communities. She spoke at a special assembly about the work she does in Fiji. She is part of a team of optometrists who provides support and help to people who have eye problems. They will perform surgeries for cataracts, treat for diabetic eyes ailments and supply spectacles, free of charge. Here are some photos of our 'Funky Eyes' day where $750 was raised between Hawea Flat and Wanaka Primary School. Thanks everyone!
